FRANK GRILLO is a gifted actor who has brought his brand of naturalism and depth of character to an incredible body of work that spans decades. Highlights include WARRIOR, DISCONNECT, END OF WATCH, THE GREY, INTERSECTION, EDGE OF DARKNESS, ZERO DARK THIRTY and DONNYBROOK.

Grillo portrayed the fan-favorite villain, “Crossbones,” in Marvel’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR which brought in well over a $1 billion globally at the box office and is the face of Universal’s PURGE franchise as Sergeant Leo Barnes in THE PURGE: ANARCH and THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR. ELECTION YEAR took in a global gross of $114.2 million, making it the most successful chapter yet. Frank also starred in China’s mega-hit WOLF WARRIOR II, where he played the ruthless American mercenary opposite Celina Jade, Hans Zhang and Wu Gang. The film broke numerous box office records and now holds the title of the second highest-grossing film of all-time in a single market with a take of $874 million.

He has also brought his trademark intensity to the small screen, playing the lead in the beloved DirecTV series KINGDOM for three seasons where he brought his real-life boxing and martial arts expertise to his widely lauded performance. A visceral family drama set against the backdrop of the world of MMA, the critically-acclaimed series was recently acquired by Netflix. All 3 seasons are now available on the global streaming platform and have breathed new life into the series.

In August 2016, Carnahan and Grillo launched a production company called WARPARTY with the intention to option and develop material from a variety of sources and produce between 3-5 films per year including titles with franchise potential. The shingle’s inaugural film, the high-concept action thrilled WHEELMAN, starred Grillo and was released on Netflix in October 2017 to widespread fanfare. It was followed by EL CHICANO, which Grillo executive produced alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and the lauded Netflix documentary series “FIGHTWORLD”, an inside look at fight culture all over the globe that Grillo produced and also starred in. POINT BLANK, an action thriller featuring Grillo and Anthony Mackie, launched on Netflix last Summer and drew massive numbers for the streaming giant within the first 48 hours only to be followed by INTO THE ASHES, which Grillo produced and stars in alongside Robert Taylor and James Badge Dale for RLJE Films.

WARPARTY struck a partnership with Hong Kong-based financier Starlight Culture Entertainment Group in the Spring of 2019. This joint venture marks a pivotal opportunity for the shingle to expand its existing production of feature films and establishes the production company as a power player within the film industry in both Hollywood and abroad. With its new collaborator, the company has entered into a far-reaching strategic partnership to develop and produce what has become the hallmark of their projects: smart, emotional, identifiable material for the worldwide marketplace. They also intend to utilize their resources to focus on elevated genre features that are disappearing amid the widening gap between blockbusters and independent film. In Starlight, WARPARTY has found an ally worthy of its vision and places them alongside other world-class filmmakers that include James Wan, Roland Emmerich, F. Gary Gray, Sylvester Stallone and Robert Zemeckis.

Next up on WARPARTY’s slate is the highly anticipated BOSS LEVEL, an action sci-fi thriller starring Grillo, Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts and directed by Carnahan currently in post-production and set for release on HULU in early 2021. In development is a reimagining of the hit Indonesian action film THE RAID which Grillo will produce and star in as well as the action/thriller LEO OF TOLEDO which will reunite the triple threat trio of Grillo, Carnahan and Gibson. And in production is the newly announced COP SHOP for Open Road Films set for release next year. The action/thriller will have Joe at the helm directing and star Frank and Gerard Butler.

Grillo most recently starred on the big screen in Screen Gems’ BLACK AND BLUE with Naomie Harris last Fall as well as the Showtime hit BILLIONS. Next up is NO MANS LAND, a modern Western drama from director Conor Allyn opposite Andie McDowell and George Lopez with IFC Films out January 22nd. The rest of 2021 will be a busy one as Frank stars in no less than six films. First up is the crime thriller IDA RED with Melissa Leo and Josh Harnett followed by THE FATHER with Donnie Yen and Alec Baldwin, THE GATEWAY, a neo-noir thriller from director Michele Civetta and writer Alexander Felix opposite Bruce Dern, Shea Wigham and Olivia Munn, BODY BROKERS, a crime thriller opposite Melissa Leo and Michael K. Williams, Jason Blum’s THE NIGHT 3 OPENED with Bobby Cannavale and Naomi Watts for Universal and the anticipated Lionsgate sequel THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD alongside Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek, set for release on August 21st, 2021.
