Jordyn is Cree and Métis from the community of Ile-á-la Crosse, a member of Black Lake First Nation, and is passionate about honoring her family’s heritage. Taught by her grandparents, she has been foraging since she could walk and she can identify a large variety of plants, berries, and mushrooms for both medicinal purposes and for cooking. Jordyn thrives in the wild and spends a lot of her time remotely at the family cabin she grew up in, which has no running water or heat. A natural leader with a bit of a goofy side, Jordyn will enjoy sharing knowledge and traditions in a youthful way.
