Matt grew up learning how to live off the grid and off the land in Haida Gwaii and along the Sunshine Coast of BC. His father taught Matt and his 6 siblings how to grow their own food, forage, hunt and fish for sustenance. Matt is extremely competitive and task oriented, and gets excited for any outdoor adventure. He remains very close with his family, and does annual survival weekends with his brothers. Nonetheless, Matt is a natural teacher, and enjoys being social, goofing around, and going with the flow.
